Would cosmic rays provide a good source of power to Supes while he was in space?

That would shield the surface from cosmic rays the way our Earth's does the same. Most cosmic radiation are charged highly accelerated subatomic particles instead of pure EM radiation.

But the total energy density is far lower than sunlight on Earth. Cosmic rays would be a good catalyst in space the same way sunlight catalyzes Kryptonian powers. But cosmic rays as a power source themselves are pretty weak. I don't know that exact power density but it has to be a tiny fraction of the solar constant or else it would give Earth more to worry about than the greenhouse effect. |
