Sure, he used to be able to persuade me to spend money on new comics! :lol:
In the infamous "Master Mesmerizer" story, we "learned" that Superman was constantly hypnotizing everyone around him into believing Clark Kent looked different from the Man of Steel. He did this by somehow magnifying his hypnotic powers through his glasses (hey I didn't write it!) and he did it without even trying!
This device was never referred to again (in a story anyway) and it's pretty much been rejected by fans.
And of course in his earliest stories he had a very different power of persuasion...he'd throw people a couple hundred feet in the air until they agreed to sign confessions. (I'd sign 'em, too, whether I was guilty or not!)

Don't forget the Golden Age power of 'telepathic will control' which seems to be what super-hypnotism came from.
