The more I hear about this movie, the better I like it. With each passing pic, Brendan Routh looks more and more like Superman; my greatest reservation about this film, namely, Routh's casting, is gradually evaporating. From the SKY CAPTAIN-style visual aesthetic to Bryan Singer as director, to the Donner music to the incorporation of successful elements from all versions of Superman - SUPERMAN RETURNS looks like a winner! I'm not the type to gush, but I can't wait to see it. I haven't been this jazzed about a picture since seeing NAPOLEON DYNAMITE or SKY CAPTAIN AND THE WORLD OF TOMORROW. If Gene Hackman hadn't been such a sissy about wearing a bald head covering, he'd look EXACTLY like Kevin Spacey does here - the resemblance is astonishing between the two men.
Do you know if they're using evil scientist Silver Age Luthor, or the Modern Age one? When I heard the casting for this film the first time, I thought they had made a mistake: Parker Posey IS Lois Lane. Seeing her as an evil henchwoman is fine, but they ought to reverse things there.
