He was the fat one in the group. When i went to school in the 60s, there was pretty much only one fat kid in the class.
Anyone ever read the Hardy Boys growing up? They had a fat friend, Chet, whose largeness was constantly commented on.
On another note, at what age would you not be likely to pick "Boy" as part of your name if you had powers?
My guess.....the onset of puberty

I always felt a bit sorry for Bouncing Boy and tried to convince myself that he had a really useful power. Of course nowadays, with the increase in childhood obesity, most of the Legion would be made up out of people with bouncing powers: Bouncing Boy, Beachball Lad, Inflatable Girl.

Yah what happens when the Legion members become adults? Do they get kicked out? I mean I don't know of any individual comics from ex-Legion members save Superboy and Supergirl.
Do you retire at 17, settle down and raise a family ala The Incredibles?

Maybe it's a sort of Peter Pan deal where you lose your powers when you grow up?

How could I have forgotten the Adult Legion? When you think of it, it's fantastic that they were actually referred the Adult Legion; it's like Clark Kent deciding to call himself Adult Superboy once he turns 21.
