Title: Minor Punctuation Annoyance
Post by: TELLE on January 03, 2006, 08:52:02 AM
I often see the issue references in Supermanica entires floating free of the entries, rather than incorporated inside the sentences.  I see this even in entries copied directly from TGSB, and editors even change already existing entries to get rid of punctuation.  I'm puzzled by this and suspect it is done for some obscure aesthetic reason.

The most recent example is this edit to Red K:

Am I missing something?  The references, since they refer to the quotes and stories described in a given sentence, should be included in the actual sentence, not separately, below the sentence, without a period, floating freely.

Well, the Great Superman Book tends to have the reference neither in the sentence nor floating below it, but just at the end of it.

I always just follow what is in the book.

I made some edits to the entry since this thread was made, feel free to make more. :)
