But I'll echo them: "The Legion Chain Gang" (reprinted in the 70s with a neat Jim Starlin wraparound cover). Neat to see the kids in civilian garb and on the run. That Mordru two-parter ("Flee, Legionaires, flee!") where the kids hide out in the 20th Century. And poor Duo Damsel reveals her secret crush on Superboy... The Sun-Eater story with the Fatal Five and the death of Ferro Lad. Also liked the Cockrum-drawn tale where the Fatal Five attack the 20th Century and the Persuader "kills" Superboy. Can't remember the issue numbers but the one titled "The Infinate Man Who Conquered The Legion" and the issue where the LSH fight these invaders with 3 legs and weird canine like heads who are lead by a gigantic brain. It is the lead up to the attack of the Khunds. Actually all those issues were great. Just brilliant writing and artwork. Whatever happened to Jim Sherman???? I remember him doing that "Steelgrip Starkey" series for epic comics and a few issues of various stuff here and there but nothing equeled his art of Superboy and the LOSH. |
