Title: I Need Help!! Post by: Tayls on November 06, 2005, 04:10:42 PM When I was a young kid I happened to collect the entire reign of Superman collection, which isnt that great of a feat, but for some reason I have wanted to start collecting Superman Comics again. I picked up superman 222, which appears to be an ending to a saga. Is this only a "Superman" saga or does it run through all the different superman comic books? Basically all I am asking is do all the superman comics still run together on the same story? or do they all differ?

That's a giant issue with previously published stories... There have been multi issue stories, more common in later periods...lots of stories reference earlier stories... Title: Re: I Need Help!! I haven'r read either 222, so I can't help you out (the first was before my time, the 2nd was after it). Title: Re: I Need Help!! Post by: Great Rao on November 06, 2005, 09:42:35 PM The issue #222 that just came out is from the same run as the number 1-92 that you already own. Unfortunately, it's also a chapter in a current DC-wide, multi-title cross-over event.
As to whether or not it's the "same" Superman as the one you know is open to debate, as DC has recently retroactively given him a new origin (see Birthright (http://superman.nu/a/History/birthright/), which is currently the official DC Superman origin) and is also in the midst of rebooting their entire universe. However, the events surrounding the main character flow pretty smoothly from your issues to the current ones. Edit: Almost forgot. Before they did that retcon (http://superman.nu/a/History/birthright/), they did this one (http://superman.nu/tales3/fathers/). I hope that clears things up! :s: |
