Title: Anarchists Protest V for Vendetta Post by: TELLE on April 14, 2006, 07:30:07 AM http://frequential.blogspot.com/2006/04/v-for-anarchy.html
A call has gone out to all NYC anarchist-types to protest the watered-down version of V that Warners has produced. Title: Re: Anarchists Protest V for Vendetta Post by: Permanus on April 14, 2006, 09:01:02 AM I'm almost tempted to join them. I haven't actually seen the V for Vendetta film (and given its reviews, I'm not about to), but it was a dead cert that Time-Warner were never going to lend their name to a film with V's anarchist ethos.
It's ironic that in the comic book, V himself infiltrates a media conglomerate of sorts (the state-run broadcasting company known as The Mouth) in order to disseminate his message to the people. They left that in there. I actually enjoyed the movie. Being....well, not an Anarchist, I wasn't offended by it. |
