Title: Carmine Infantino is 81!
Post by: TELLE on May 24, 2006, 12:43:51 PM
Silver Age giant, an artist associated with the Flash and Adam Strange at DC (and Nova and Spider-Woman at Marvel), art director and editor, one of the most unique stylists in comics.

Happy Birthday!

I always liked Spider-Woman best: Infantino had just the right style for that title -- a bit weird, slightly skewed. It worked well with Jessica Drew's general sense of alienation and the dark mood of the book. Great stuff. Happy Birthday!

Oh oh oh! And let's not forget he also co-created Deadman, another favourite of mine (I always liked the weird ones).

I'm reading the Marvel Star Wars series right now.

Good stuff, besides the fact that I got almost the whole series for 100 bucks!

Happy Birthday!

When I was 12 he had just been editorial director of DC and he was gracious enough to take a look at a kids scribbling and appraise whether he had talent or not.  I collected every cover he had pinned up.

He'll always be Uncle Carmine to me.

And his Flash is THE Flash. And new look Bats!  And Adam Strange.....
