It took three of them to combine their power to cause a short in the phantom zone projector, but electronic devices are a lot more vulnerable to that type of manipulation compared to a mountain side. I suppose two things might rule it out... 1. I am not aware of any Jewel Kryptonite that was morphed by the explosion of Krypton into a "new" radioactive substance 2.
