Post by: LadyStyx on November 12, 2006, 01:19:03 AM
Everybody keeps saying she has remarkable powers, but which are they? What's their nature? And their exent? Does she has any sort of weakness like kryptonite? Could you give me more information? You've certainlty picked up my curiosity ;)

Well, since Liandly of Rolez appeared in only one brief "Mr. and Mrs. Superman" story (in "Superman Family #220, July 1982), it's very hard to determine the true extent of her powers and weaknesses.  Basically, Liandly was a "Deus ex Machina" who could do anything the script demanded.

I don't have my copy of "Superman Family #220" with me, so I'm relying on memory -- she first appeared in mid-air and addressed the Earth-2 Superman via telepathy.  She later had a premonition that Kal-L would need her assistance, and thus freed Superman by snapping his restraints with the power of her mind.  Thus, all her powers were probably psionic in nature.  She did not exhibit any weaknesses or vulnerabilties during her short stay on Earth-2.

It's unclear whether Liandly's superabilities were "normal" on Rolez, or was the result of being on Earth-2.  Liandly was teleported to Earth-2 after playing with her father's experimental dimensional transporter device (and returned back to Rolez after the effect wore off), so her powers might have been due to the transporter.

Can you post the tale in Superman Across the Ages or at least make a summary in depth?
