Title: Two Questions Post by: dave b on March 11, 2007, 09:02:54 AM Someone told me last night that Superman periodically has to expose his body to the sun in order to acquire or keep up his energy. I had never heard of this before and wondered if the person who told me this was mistaken. Second, I would like any advice on where to buy Superman comics from the late 1950s era. Thank you in advance for any info.....

The current comics' Superman has a "solar battery" explanation where he stores energy inside his body, and thus if not exposed to a yellow sun, he'd slowly (but not immediately) lose his powers. Pre-Crisis, more like a solar-powered calculator---without a yellow sun, he'd lose his powers immediately (IIRC; can't think of an example off-hand that didn't involve a red sun).
