Post by: MatterEaterLad on March 19, 2007, 10:36:44 AM I've never read a definitive explanation for Captain Thunder (maybe there is one out there), I assume it was a matter of DC going slowly with crossovers and using this story as a "test" of a newly licensed Captan Marvel (a name which in itself was tricky and secondary to the Shazam title).

There was some sort of dispute between DC and that company about copyright infringement, and DC eventually bought the character from them (or something...). Perhaps this was before they got the character, and they were doing exactly what the accused the other company of doing (stealing a character)! :P
