Title: Against my better judgement...
Post by: DBN on April 11, 2007, 01:58:51 AM
I read the latest issue of Supergirl and...

In addiction to killing her mother, "Kara" helps Zor-El slaughter hundreds of children.

Yeah...why is a hack like Joe Kelly on this book again? Or why does Eddie Berganza even have a job at this point?

That's the thing, you have Mark Waid writing the real Kara in the LOSH book and Brave and the Bold, and then you have Joe Kelly on this book. Night and day in terms of portrayal.

Joe Kelly shouldn't have been allowed near another Super Family character after his horrid runs on Action Comics and Superboy. During his tenure on Action, he produced a total of two readable stories. Not decent or enjoyable, just readable.

I could go on for a few pages about Berganza's idiotic decisions.

I don't know what they're thinking of with this.  The book keeps getting worse and worse.

Seriously .....just when you think it can't get worse, it does.

I really don't want these events to be happening or have happened.

So why do I keep buying it?

Because I'm an idiot, that's why.

Who's the replacement?  The scary part is that I could think of worse than Joe Kelly.  We need an Evan Dorkin/Sarah Dyer-level intervention, here.

Trina Robbins (http://www.trinarobbins.com/) would be good.  Her Wonder Woman mini-series was great.

Anything would be better than what they have now. It wasn't for Travesty of Shazam and All-Star Batman this would be the worst book out there, well at DC anyway.

Don't know, just speculation at this point. I'd like to see Waid have a long run on the title after his work on the character in the Legion book.
