Title: Mr. Action Post by: AMAZO on August 19, 2007, 02:19:06 PM While i am still pretty nonplussed about the majority of what goes on in Countdown, I DO like what DC is doing with Superman's Pal. Jimmy has acquired so many super-powers and strange abilities over the years that it seems only natural that he would eventually become a superhero himself. Moreover, I like that he uses powers that are randomly generated from his classic transformations. I actually think A Mr. Action book, if it kept a fun and "tongue-in-cheek" tone could be pretty gosh darn "Super-Duper!"

I've always liked the SUPERMAN FAMILY "Jimmy Olsen, Mr. Action" backups, because they had Jimmy as a gutsy young hero in his own right: doing Karate, chasing smugglers using SCUBA gear, etc. I am very much enjoying how Jimmy is being written in the Superman books currently, as Clark Kent's confidant who occasionally ribs and needles him out of respect. Mr. Action would do all sorts of manly feats --1/2 Jim Rockford, 1/2 Bruce Jenner.
