Title: Shazam! Family archive
Post by: Ace Corona on September 14, 2007, 10:28:34 PM
Has anyone bought it? I'm trying to save up for it, it's cheaper to get it from Amazon.com than to order it from Bud Plant.

I'd like to know if the Black Adam story is in it. Does anyone know?

I would suspect that the Black Adam story is NOT in this collection.

According to the DC site, MASTER COMICS 23-32, CAPTAIN MARVEL JR. #1 and CAPTAIN MARVEL ADVENTURES #18 are reprinted in this volume, and Black Adam appeared in Marvel Family #1

Black Adam is in the Showcase volume, including a recount of his origin by Kurt Schaffenberger, as I recall.

Thank you for your help. I appreciate it. Does the showcase volume have the origin of Mary Marvel and Captain Marvel Junior?

From DC

"A stunning Golden Age Archive featuring the adventures of Captain Marvel, Jr. and the origin of Mary Marvel from MASTER COMICS 23-32, CAPTAIN MARVEL JR. #1 and CAPTAIN MARVEL ADVENTURES #18! Plus, a foreword by comics historian PFrom DC .C. Hamerlinck."

I'd recommend getting the Shazam Family Annual 1953 Facsimile (2002) as seen here

It's got the Mary Marvel origin, and the Black Adam origin......can't recall if it has the Junior origin though, but hey, for 5 or 6 bucks, it's worth it

You people are wasting your money. Just go here (http://digitalcomicmuseum.com/) and register to become a member of the Digital Comic Museum (for free!) and you can download a bunch of public domain comics, including Fawcett Comics, for free!
