Title: The Fate of Kon *spoilers*
Post by: The Starchild on July 29, 2003, 04:17:57 PM
I've been intrigued by the upcoming "Foundations" storyline in Legion.  The description for issue 25 reads:
Quote

Kicking off the landmark 6-part story "Foundations" that brings Superboy into the Legion!  Part 1 begins in Smallville, where a young Clark Kent is confronted by three oddly dressed teens... but by the end, a dead hero will have returned, a young man will have found his destiny, and an apocalyptic darkness prophesied in "Dream Crime" will have reared its ugly head!

The story I heard at San Diego is that the "young man" who finds his destiny is... Kon!  Yes, he'll finally get the costume and join the Legion.

I was hoping that this "Superboy" would be a young Clark.  I especially thought this might be possible with DC maybe doing a Superman relaunch.  But it looks like I was mistaken.

Kon joining the Legion is almost as cool and should be fun :-)

Hi I'm new, but I thought I'd respond...

How do we know that this isn't Superboy-Prime? The "Dead Hero" they mention could be the Earth-2 Superman...

Mik, I hope you're right.  The return of Superboy Prime and the Earth 2 Superman is long overdue.

awe nuts

I thought Superboy was Kal and not Kon.

Wasn't Superman Prime in 1 million Superboy Prime?

Don't forget. In Kingdom (ugh), Earth-2 Superman is still kicking.

Hm. . .well, I might not have been thrilled that Superboy is Kon and not Clark, but I have to say the Kid is growing on me. It was really cool to see him in the classic Superboy uniform, and with the Legion too. Don't get me wrong, the Titans are a nice team, but Superboy and the Legion are as natural a fit as bread and peanut butter. :)

Still, the fact that Clark has been kidnapped and taken to Apokolips is troublesome. If this story takes its cues from The Great Darkness Saga, then is the Superman-esque servitor a clone? Or Clark? Heh, this could be the moment we've all been waiting for, to see who gets the title of Superboy once and for all. . . :)
