Welcome aboard! If there's anything anyone can do to make your stay more pleasant, feel free to ask. This site has tons of info on Supergirl, her famous cousin, and all things Kryptonian. Enjoy! :)

Welcome!
I'm currently re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-watching Supergirl.  I had the double disc edition for some time now.  I think that Supergirl is the peak of the Superman series in terms of tech.  She looks good when she flies and she's well casted for the part.
It's a shame that Reeve just threw the part out the window.  The producers wanted him to be in there for a little role to help Supergirl "fly" at the box office.  If he'd done that, the movie would've even more being considered part of the saga.
I love the flying ballet.
I love the soundtrack.
I love Slater as Linda.
I love that McClure is in there.
I don't love too much Selina as the villain or Dunaway in the role.
I don't like the actors who play her parents.
I don't like the way the phantom zone is depicted.
I don't like the actress who plays Lucy Lane.
All in all, I have a lot of consideration for this movie done in the best tradition of the Superman series.

Hi !:)  I think Leelee Sobieski would be a great Supergirl, but i really loved Helen Slater in  the original movie:) **thinking** too many smileys:)

I have never really given any thought to a new supergirl movie.  Probably because I realize that any new movie would be about the PAD version and that would not really matter to me.

And I am taking a wait and see attitude about the new Kara before I make a final judgement on her. :)

I love the soundtrack too. It's very powerfu but it would be good coming from Jerry Goldsmith.  In the movie industry if they can't get John Williams they give Jerry a call who in my opinion is just as good.  He also did The Mummy music which has a simular rythm to Supergirl in places.l

G'day! my name's "Anime Avenger". (nah, ya don't say! :P )

i TOO like others here am yet another that also utterly LURVES Kara Zor-El (the ONE and ONLY) Supergirl! :s: I watch the VHS format of the Helen Slater 80's flick that i have MANY times, religiously like. (unfortunately YET to be able to get the various DVD formats of the flick *sigh*) and i'm assuming like other various die hard Kara Zor-El Supergirl fans i am just frickin happy as all joy TOO that she seems to to be FINALLY back where she so rightfully belongs once again within the current DCU patheon! (take THAT Cir-El!)

I guess I'll intro myself, too.  My handle's DarkMark and I fell in love with Kara just before I saw the damnable cover to CRISIS #7 in CBG.  But I ended up doing something about that, and you can see the results on this site:

Yup, it's a plug, mea culpa.  But I hope you enjoy it!

I'm another great Supergirl fan. I love the film. I believe it's because I grew up  watching it. I think the only thing really good in the film is the flying sequences, and the actress who played her. I suppose if there was a better story than her fending off a sorceress, and more with her adapting to Earth then it could have done much better and make Supergirl as recognizable as Christopher reeve is with the superman movies.

DarkMark?  THE DarkMark?  Pleased to meet you sir, and welcome!  I've admired your fan-fiction for quite some time, and I've relied on your character index to compile my own collection of Supergirl issues.

And THANK YOU for finishing that Superboy-Prime story!  He's one of my favorite characters -- the recent "Superman: Secret Identity" miniseries only reawakened my fondness for the kid.

I myself was also heartsick when Kara Zor-el died, and frankly I abandoned comics soon afterward.  I did stay fairly current on what was happening, though I never warmed to Matrix.  And wouldn't you know it, i got interested in Linda Danvers just when the series was to be cancelled.

But it was that final story arc, "Many Happy Returns" that really fired me up.  I realized why I left comics, and it HURT to meet Kara again and then to see her (and Linda, who I grew to admire) disappear.  So far the new Kara Zor-El just doesn't ring "true" to me yet, but I'm willing to give her a fair trial.  (Unlike Cir-El.)

But even if I don't accept the new Supergirl, DarkMark showed me there's always fan-fiction.  I'm currently planning my own "spin", and hopefully this will appear in the continuumworlds site.

Thanks!  I'm glad you enjoyed the stories.  Yeah, PAD's Supergirl is fun and well-written, but there's no real substitute for Kara.  Once I get a chance, I still have the last leg of the Hellsister Trilogy (tentative title:  Hellspawn) to write, as well as a tale I'm working on featuring Kara of Rokyn, another alternate-Earth (or -Rokyn) Supergirl.  Hope you continue to enjoy them!

WOW....see what happens when you go on vacation or don't pay attention?

Welcome to the new Supergirl Fans...

DTO, good to see you here....and I READ that remark...I'll hold that over your head :)  I want to see that story up on the Continuum Worlds

AA...It's about time you showed up :)  and I am still waiting to see what you do with Supergirl next in your animated art versions :)

and finally DarkMark....WOW :)  One of those that inspired me....THE name in Fan-fiction as far as I am concerned (okay okay....enough of the "I'm not worthy"  thing  )

A lot of talent all at once.  Welcome to the board you three....

Dylan

I watched the making of Supergirl on the Limited Edition just yesterday. Only the second time I've seen it since buying the dvd which when I ordered it from ebay I thought I'd never be able to watch because`it's region 1. I was planning on buying a multi region player just to watch it as I live in the UK and it's region 2 here but it worked fine! very strange. I was very happy that day  8)

Have you tried ebay Supergrl5013?

Well, glad you liked the first one, at least.  It was done when I hardly knew anything about Buffy; I'd just been challenged to do it.  By the second one, I'd learned a lot more about Ms. Summers and her crew and was able to include them in the story.  Sorry you didn't like that one.
