according to  the article in wizard  morrison says that the all-star superman is the one from before the byrne revamp.  done as if that (& later revamps) had not been done.  definetely sounds like the pre-crisis superman to me.  if that is the case, then the story he says will be in the first issue won't work.  Superman "dying from an over-dose of solar energy".  an over-dose he receives by flying to the sun.  the pre-crisis superman flew through the sun countless times.  the core of the sun was his favorite place to clean his uniform.  he has even flown through the cores of novas.

Hey, it might work and it might not.  Either way, I certainly have no problems reading Grant Morrison's take on the pre Crisis superman!  Cheesy

I'll admit, I'm intrigued. After reading Generations, I'm convinced the Pre-Crisis Superman would work in a modern setting without too much trouble.
