Even though I have serious doubts about Mark Verheiden's writing, I have to say Benes draws an impressive Superman. Mayhaps Birthright could have been helped by his art instead of Leinil Francis Yu? Or maybe this is the guy who should be drawing All-Star Superman instead? (I'm still not sold on Frank Quitely's Gerard Depardieu Clark.)

I'll give DC this: they may hire terrible writers to do Superman, but the art is usually first-rate.

My first novella, Wounds of the Heart (http://www.booksurge.com/product.php3?bookID=IMPR02655-00001), has been published. Check it out, if you like.

Agreed on all counts. An artist like Benes could've saved Birthright and he's prolly be awesome on All Star.

I'm really impressed because he's kinda made most of his name by drawing lovely ladies and so often is the case where the "good girl" artists are never that great at drawing male heroes.

I would definately like to see more Benes drawing Kal-El.
