I'm suggesting the fact that she's dead in the first place when they started cutting MacDuff out meant maybe they no longer considered a dead body a woman or a man for that matter.

That would make more sense in an era of frightfully high mortality rates.

Don't make the mistake of reading old stories through modern eyes, since words and phrases have different meanings now.

In the 16th and 17th centuries did the words "born" or "birth" imply that the delivery was vaginal or did the phrase "born of woman" imply that the mother survived the delivery?
