Kryptonian Judicial Rockets Question.

Before Jor-El built the Phantom Zone Porjector, the Kryptonians sent their criminals up in rockets to orbit Krypton for 1000 years.(suspension gas and brainwave modulation device)  

Was there any stories dealing with THOSE criminlas?   A story dealing with the ones in orbit around Krypton when she blew.
