Cheesy  This i s my first post, and I love this site. I became interested in comics when I was 10 years old because of the "Death of Superman," and I have therefore grown up with the John Byrne Superman. But just a few days ago I finally found a copy of "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow." I read it, and now I miss a world that I didn't even know existed.

Needless to say, I have some catching up to do. I saw the graphic novel of Starwinds Howl that is featured on this website, and I'm thinking about getting it. But there is very little in the way of a preview. Are there any pictures of the Starwinds Howl artwork posted somewhere?

(And how did Maggin publish a book about Krypto without getting his pants sued off?)

Thanks, and I look forward to being a member here.

It's a novel not a graphic novel, so there isn't any artwork for it. You can get it free here: http://superman.nu/a/users/maggin/starwinds-howl/howl.php

Just some corrections here:  Starwinds Howl isn't a graphic novel, but is a text-only prose novel.  No pictures.  The content is exactly the same as what you'll find online.  Also, Elliot S! Maggin never published it.  He sent us a copy of the story and we took it upon ourselves to make it widely available - both online and in fanzine form.

"The bottom line involves choices.  Neither gods nor humans have ever stood calmly in a minefield forever.  Good or evil, they are bound to choose.  And when they do, you will see the truth of all that motivates us.  As a thinking being, you have the obligation to choose.  If the fate of all mankind were in your hands, what would your decision be?  As a writer and an artist, I've drawn my answer."   - Jack Kirby
