At the end of Grant Morrison's run on Animal Man, he briefly brought back several characters that were done away with in Crisis on Infinite Earths. One of those was Sunshine Superman (I think), a guy with a giant afro and a groovy-looking 'S' on his chest.

Can anyone point me to any comic appearances of this character? I'd like to look him up and read them...

Along with Crisis victims (Ultraman and Owlman of Earth-3, Kole, etc.) and other retconned characters (Streaky the Supercat), Grant Morrison also added some original heroes.  Sunshine Superman (based on a Donovan song), Speed Freak and Magic Lantern of the Love Syndicate of Dreamworld were 1960s hippie versions, while Overman of Earth-17 was Morrison's parody of the "grim and gritty" 1980s.  (I wonder if Earth-17 was inspired by the NC-17 movie rating?)  None appeared outside of Animal Man, though I think a Love Syndicate Elseworld adventure written by Morrison might be amusing.
