They are best friends! They have no reason to fight.

I believe Batman has never achieved this in mainstream canon continuity, both Pre and Post Crisis.

The only instance I know of is an alternate future/Elseworlds-type tale by Frank Miller, The Dark Knight Returns.

Another alternate is Red Son where he mops the floor with Kal pretty good.

My favorite take on the whole Supes vs. Batman 'feud' can definitely be found in Darywn Cooke's DC: The New Frontier, where Batman and Superman had a knock-down drag-out at the request of the administration. . .and it turns out they faked it, still the best of friends. Smiley

I rather liked that myself and it's nice dig at Iron Age fanboys who swear by that stupid DKR fight as proof positive that Batman could take him.

Frankly I'm sick of the whole Batman vs. Superman or Superman vs. Goku or vs. in general.  I'm tired of this "my Dad is better than your Dad" crap.

Let's see heroes working together and interacting as friends and colleges.

Oh, come now, *everyone* knows that real-life nonprofit group charity workers, policemen, and soliders spend all their time staring down each other like dogs, tell each other to "stay out of my city" and act like 9th graders...so I'm sure the comics are just being more "realistic" than that "superheroes getting along and behaving like adults" nonsense. ;-p

If you check out the current "Sacrifice" storyline in the superbooks, Superman, mind-pushed by Max Lord into not seeing what's really happening, easily nearly kills Batman in a straight up confrontation.

Batman barely survives only due to the timely arrival of Wonder Woman.  Even then, Diana had to repeatedly use the Purple Healing Ray on Batman as he was terminal without it.

That answers it definitively in current continuity and canon.  Batfanboys aside, Superman takes it in canon.
