Man, MONKEYMAN AND O'BRIEN! I haven't thought about that comic in years and years. I remember absolutely adoring it when it first came out. I'd give anything to reread it again.

Has it still held up over time? Is it available in Trade Paperback?

It sure is available as a Trade Paperback. Since I have it and all.

The always reliable Tom Spurgeon has posted a link to a rough guide to the Rutland Halloween comics:

As well, Halloween comics are discussed here:

As far as the Rutland stories were concerned, a Batman fan named Tom Fagan used to write Batman editor Julius Schwartz letters after each Halloween describing the Batman themed parades they had each Halloween in Rutland, Vermont.  This inspired a number of writers to visit the town for the parade and then actually write stories involving their superheroes in the parades.
Both DC and Marvel featured stories about the Rutland Halloween parades.  I'll see if I can compile a list of the stories, but I know they ran in books like Batman, Justice League, Thor, Avengers, The Defenders, Amazing Adventures (featuring the Beast), a Deadman/Phantom Stranger teamup (in a DC special) and the Freedom Fighters.
