2000 AD - what a far out future!
Hope I live long enough to see it.

"Meanwhile, in the past, Perry White comes to a decision..." I love it when writers can't get their heads around time travel.
There's an odd fetish that keeps returning in Superman stories from this period: replacing a statue of yourself with your actual self. This happens to Superman in this story (Why on earth do Vard and Boka decide to stash him in the Superman Museum?), but in a similar twist, he pulls the same switcheroo on Lexor to evade the authorities. Also, Batman hides in the Fortress of Solitude by melting the wax figure of
him
and standing in its stead (this fools Superman, whose supersenses must have gone haywire). I'm sure it happens in other stories too. What does it mean?

I love the scene on page 11, with a powerless and wounded Superman holed up in a warehouse, surrounded by policemen, like some common gangster. Look at the fear and desperation on his face -- he's actually sweating. Wayne Boring could do some wonderfully dramatic moments.
