Ok, before anyone starts with the "F---in' furries" comments, I need to point out that I intend this thread as an honest, clean discussion..

Now..  What kind of cartoon animal do you think would fit a Superman 'toon best?  There have been many attempts at creating a funny animal version of our hero:
-Super-Squirrel of Earth C-Minus
-Super-Turtle
-Stuporduck, Daffy Duck's parody
-Captain Carrot of Earth C
-An artist named Carlos actually made an interesting Super-Griffin based on the concept of Krypton having been a world of mythological creatures.

And less directly, Mighty Mouse is perhaps the most well known Funny Animal Superman knock-off.

Anyways, I'm just wondering which funny animal you think fits Superman best..  Either the ones mentionned, or entirely different ones.   I'm partial towards Super-Squirrel, myself.  What do you guys think?

(and please, no flames..)

Speaking of Superman King of Ants did you know that the story line appeared virtually note for note as a Superman sunday series illustrated by Wayne Boring?!!  I had clipped the sequence as a lad for my Super-Scrapbook and imagine my shock when the same story (that lasted for months!) was wrapped in 12 pages in Action months later!

That is interesting, did that kind of thing happen any other time?

As for me, I didn't get the story until the 80 Page Giant "All Kryptonite" issue...

Oops, sorry if I'm getting off topic here... Cool

Well, we're still being Super-funny animals albeit a red k effect.  To answer your question, I dont know. The Newark Star Ledger stopped coming to our house and that was the only paper in the NYC area that carried Supes, Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers.

Don't forget Bugs Bunny's "Super-Rabbit" ("Bugs Bunny, Bugs Bunny, rah rah rah!"). :-)

Not sure of my choice... Mighty Mouse or Capt. Carrot, possibly.

Gotta go with Mighty Mouse. I still have the theme song record somewhere.
