Jim Cleaveland has contributed one of his favorite stories:

The STRANGE DEATH of SUPERBOY!

Here's why he sent it in.

Thanks, Jim!

"The bottom line involves choices.  Neither gods nor humans have ever stood calmly in a minefield forever.  Good or evil, they are bound to choose.  And when they do, you will see the truth of all that motivates us.  As a thinking being, you have the obligation to choose.  If the fate of all mankind were in your hands, what would your decision be?  As a writer and an artist, I've drawn my answer."   - Jack Kirby

Unfathomable that so many people still insist the Silver Age was devoid of mature, well-executed, thoughtful story telling.

A wonderful and important addition to this website. Kudos to Jim and 'Rao for putting it up.  S!

Nearly every single person who makes such statements either never actually read any Sliver Age comics but only heard about them or only read a very small sample and made a brutish decision base on that.

I was surprised how much this story felt like an episode of Smallville.  Just replace Bash with Whitney and it would have fit right in during the first season.
