The solicitation refers to Supernova as "the new guardian of Metropolis" so maybe it's another Jim Harper clone.

Or maybe it's a rogue Superman robot who has achieved consciousness.

Or maybe it's Vartox.

Or Perry White with another cigar.

You never know - might even your hero and mine, that all-around swell guy, Steve Lombard!

Notice Perry says he's become unreliable just as Clark has cleaned up his act.  Could it be because Jimmy's mind is on his other life as a costumed do-gooder?

Besides, only the ex-Turtle Boy could come up with a name as goofy as Super-Nova.  That's the kind of name pre-teens give their heroes in fan-drawn comics.
