Looks like a good month; Challengers and Batman both get the Showcase treatment and they've re-tooled Cap Junior's book to include Mary! (I guess this answers the question posed elsewhere on the Web: how can DC market a book with "Captain Marvel" in the title...they can't!)

Here's what I don't get, though: the minute "Up Up and Away" is finished, it's out as a trade paperback.  And the TPB costs $14.99 whereas the original issues (there are 8 of them, right?) would be about $24.  So why would DC ever expect us to buy a monthly again when almost every storyline ends up collected in a TPB that's cheaper and, as it will fit on a bookshelf, is a superior format anyway?

Honestly, is there ANY reason to buy a monthly comic anymore?
