Sound of Superman is a companion album to the soundtrack of the upcoming Warner Bros. film, Superman Returns. It features performances both original and cover by various up and coming artists, as well as established ones. All the songs on the album are based either off of Superman himself, or at the basic concept of what a hero really is.

This album will precede the actual score of the film, composed by John Ottman. That album is to be released two weeks later, on June 27th.

This is not the first time that this concept has been explored in the super hero genre of film. Batman did the same, and achieved great success with both albums. One featuring music by Prince, and the other featuring the score composed by Danny Elfman.

"The bottom line involves choices.  Neither gods nor humans have ever stood calmly in a minefield forever.  Good or evil, they are bound to choose.  And when they do, you will see the truth of all that motivates us.  As a thinking being, you have the obligation to choose.  If the fate of all mankind were in your hands, what would your decision be?  As a writer and an artist, I've drawn my answer."   - Jack Kirby
