I've been hearing a lot about the Indian superhero film Krrish lately; apparently it's one of the most successful Bollywood films ever made. Some extremely patient youngster has uploaded the whole film, in clips, onto YouTube and I watched much of it yesterday. Since I don't speak Hindi, I was at a bit of a disadvantage, but it looks quite fun, and I might give it a look if they release it here. It has the usual interminable singing and dancing scenes and romantic twaddle that are intrinsic to the genre, but there are some great action scenes, especially one in which Krrish, on foot, is pursuing a helicopter through Singapore.

I can't exactly fathom what his powers are beyond being very strong, leaping great distances and running at great speed. The script tailors his powers to fit the scene, so sometimes Krrish just runs very fast, and at other times moves with Flash-like superspeed. And the villain... Well, you can tell he's a villain by the fact that he occasionally bursts out in smatterings of English: "Absolute genius!" "Brilliant!"

Anyway, not great, but sort of fun.
