I have seen the previews of SUPERMAN #654 and they are really amazing.
I hope to read this run for a long time...
So, my question is: how many issues should you write?
Only 12 or there are longer term plans for your run SUPERMAN (as I hope!)?

Thank you.

Wow! Now, how often do you get a straight answer like that?

Thank you, Kurt! More than 12 issues... A record, in the current comic biz.
I have enjoyed with several Superman stories in the last years (Superman is the only hero able to make me feel like a kid again!), but I hated the short lenght of the last runs.

Rucka on ADVENTURES? 20 issues or so.
Simone/Byrne on ACTION COMICS? 9 issues.

Loeb and Kelly have been good exceptions.
I think that only with long runs a writer can really add something in the life of a character. Today, so many writers produce 6 or 12 part stories and then leave the books... And when you read the last chapter, you understand that nothing really important happened... And how could it, in a short storyline? I miss those good old self contained stories where you could find the core of the characters in just 22 pages. When multiparter sagas were not longer than 4 episodes and were produced only if there was something really important to tell. Way back in the Silver Age Marvel, how many trilogies were published? In this moment, I can only think to Master Planner (AMAZING), Galactus (FANTASTIC FOUR) and Titanium Man (TALES OF SUSPENSE).

Daydreaming moment: Kurt Busiek like Cary Bates! A 15 years long run... Am I axagerating?
