wow -- all amazing stuff.  Goes to show how much he permeated all these niches of American over such a significant time frame.  There's a great essay on the history of Superman licensing here!

On the kids trying to be Superman subject, we had, very unfortunately, a really sad case here in Cleveland a couple of months ago when a 6 year old boy jumped off his bed with a cape that got caught and he died.  Really sad story.  

So if you have Super-Kids running around, be careful of the capes.
