Ok, I was expanding the entry when I noticed some problems:

- First, there IS an entry of an Ultra-Humanite of Earth2, but since that's supposed to be the same character of the Golden Age era, isn't that entry redundant? I assumed it was created because there IS a continuation in 1980 of where it left off in 1940! But it is NOT a different character... I propose deleting the 'earth2' entry...

- Second, the entry is long and winded, going into very much detail on the first stories... Is this good? I don't see the same type of entry anywhere else. Would it be better if I resumed it? I know detail is good, but this is bothersome to read (it IS a big block of text)...

- Also, I'm having real trouble with gender! While he's in Dolores, should he be referred as 'she'? It's Ultra who's really acting...

I like this character... It has big plans of domination, and he's VERY evil... also has strange powers because of his scientific genius.

Curiously, he disappeared after Luthor came on the scene (Last golden age appearance was in Act 20, Luthor appears on Act 23). I guess they didn't need another mad scientist, and Ultra was effectively replaced by Luthor, but for my part, it's a shame, as he really was a mad genius, a true nemesis for Superman. Luthor is somewhat cautious... What do you think?

My take on that is that whoever's body he's in, he's still the Ultra-Humanite, who is male, so he's still a he. I suppose politeness would require that transexuals be referred to by their mental rather than physical gender.

Was any name ever as evocative and fearsome as "Ultra-Humanite"? It conjures up the idea of something loathesome and evil and just plain yucky.

Its a problem, but this is the way we've handled it...the 1980 story is clearly an Earth 2 story in parallel with an lready existing Earth 1 Superman as far as the comics go and that Delores info should go under Ultra Humanite of Earth 2...

The original stories are tied to the Superman continuity and so stay under Ultra Humanite...

See how Susie Thompkins is handled for an example...

There is not going to be a perfect way to do it, because there aren't hard and fast answers.  I'm not even sure I would agree but its pretty necessary to have one way of dealing with it, and since there aren't really right or wrong answers, the way its done seems to work fine for me.

As far as the Ultra Humanite entry, I bet a lot of that is taken from the Great Superman Book, words that Supermanica takes seriously...as well as wanting lots of detail too.

The Archer is another example...

Aspects of the issue are talked about in this thread...

It comes from the bible, so you delete that, you will get banned. no seriously.

Earth-2 is different from Earth-1.

Ultra-H of Earth-1 is the actual Golden Age version.

Ultra-H of Earth-2 is a new character, whose had a parallel  existance until the Earth-2 stories, which never happen to the Earth-1 Ultra-H.
