I've just returned from Northeastern University, where I was fortunate to see an incredible lightning-paced lecture by Scott McCloud. He is currently touring all 50 states (and some countries) promoting his new book and this was his latest stop.

Not counting the stories he told about his high school antics with pal Kurt Busiek, the highlight of the evening was his live reading of MONKEY TOWN.  In honor of our own illustrious moderating primate, I am compelled to provide the link.

Ook ook!

Oh - and at the book signing afterwards, there was an artist who showed two pages of his work to Scott.  Contained in them were three panels of images taken from the 'net - one of Batman, one of Wonder Woman, and one of Superman.  The Superman artwork that he chose was the very first image that I put together for Superman Through the Ages!.  I didn't tell him that it was mine, but I did ask him why he chose it.  He said he wanted highly recognizable definitive versions of the characters.

I don't know, I scanned it from the cover of TGSB.  I assumed it was Neal Adams and Dick Giordano, but I really have no idea.
