If they're reissuing Flesiher's Bats-pedia, ya know what's NEXT!

And I think we can thank all the hard-working editors at Supermanica for that.

The cover has not been released yet.

Advanced-solicited, means that you can pre-order it in April but it will not be release until May 16. This effects stores more than us.

It's an over-used expression, but I can honestly say my jaw dropped when I saw the solicitation for the Batman Encyclopedia.  WOW!  Shocked

Of course that means Superman's next.  It'll be interesting to see if they stick with the original plan and call it "The Encyclopedia of Comic Book Heroes Volume 2: Superman," or if they use the name it actually appeared under back in '78, "The Great Superman Book," a change obviously made to capitalize on the release of the first Donner film.

Either way, how wonderful to see this stuff available again.  At least it's wonderful for me, since I've had both books for years.  If I'd recently broken down and paid a couple hundred bucks for an original, I might not feel so good about this.  Cheesy

Too bad it wont be updated with all the fine work done at Super-Manica.  But one wonders about the copyright legalities with the original back in print and then also having it available for 'free' on the net.

And I had just scored a copy on e-Bay too.

...jumping in from the discussion over at the Supermanica forum...

It's a great opportunity for them to update these books, perhaps with second volumes.  The resources and manpower are there.  Maybe DC will be smart and buy the wiki from Rao, thus getting into the opensource game.

I assume it will start with Showcase #4, since the Green Lantern volume started with his Showcase appearances. I've been hoping for this one for some time. Along with the recently announced Hawkman volume. Now I'm still hoping for Atom and Adam Strange volumes.
