I continue to be amazed as we shoot headlong into the 21st century.

As if pocket telephones, gigabytes of storage, autmobiles that use satellites for personal navigation, and interplanetary exploration weren't enough - we now have:

A glass skywalk over the grand canyon.

Thanks anyway, but it'd take one humongous heap of wampum to get me out on that crazy thing.

Shut up Dolores Honga, a tribal elder!

While a skywalk over the Grand Canyon is kind of weird, it will be good for this tribe. Anthropologists (and at least one tribal elder) have bought into the idea that if American Indians are to succeed, they should be given the same opportunities to succeed that they had in 1600: Give them some land and some sticks to hunt buffalo. This is akin to giving all white people a mule, a musket, and a patch of land to plant tobacco on.

If the tribes are to succeed, they need to be allowed to NOT be Amish. And that's the end of my rant.

Glass skywalk over the Grand Canyon? Finally, a reason for me to visit America! I love stuff like that; last year I went to some expense to cross the highest road bridge in the world: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/4091813.stm

it looks kind of rinky dink to me --the canyon is so huge and this tiny little balcony jutting out really says: mankind is insignifiacnt.
