and for those who think Power Girl isn't Supergirl and doesn't belong in this thread, or that they just wasted 30 minutes of their life, take a pill:

The costumes and make-up are actually not too bad in these films. I see they've made several others; the Question actually looks pretty good!

I'm fairly impressed with Tawnya Manion's portrayal of Power Girl -- she captures Karen's "eternally exasperated" attitude well without going overboard, as many DC writers have done.  Her Peege isn't simply a one-dimensional abrasive and rude caricature, and thankfully Karen's original "in your face" feminist stance has mellowed over the years.  (I always thought the DC writers at the time cruelly exaggerated the women's liberation movement by making it a major component of Power Girl's ornery personality.  I suppose the current Peege doesn't carry that particular chip on her shoulder so openly now, since by and large the world has mostly caught up with her views on gender equality.)

Tawnya also provides glimpses of Karen Starr's more sensitive, vulnerable side.  You really sympathize with poor Power Girl when she does that slow burn.  And yes, Manion's Power Girl DOES have a sense of humor (or is it a wry appreciation of the absurdities which constantly mess up her life?)

I'm looking forward to more Tawnya Manion performances in future fan-films.  Frankly, her depiction of a younger Power Girl is near-perfect casting.  And I always thought Peege looked better with close-fitting gloves and boots -- her traditional oversized "pirate boots" always seemed impractical.
