Is it possible that Supergirl's arch-enemy Zora Vi-Lar (aka Black Flame) was a reference to the Harlem Rennaissance?

A combination of Zora Neal Hurston and W.E.B. du Bois's BLACK FLAME books?

Then again, Black Flame was created by E. Nelson Bridwell, who inserted a lot of science fiction pulp references, and it could be Black Flame is a reference to Stanley G. Weinbaum's novel BLACK FLAME, which also featured a darkhaired femme that uses advanced science for world conquest (though she was heroic in nature).

Anyone who complains that Robert E. Howard died too soon should hear the tragic tale of Stanley G. Weinbaum, who died of lung cancer 18 months after his first book.

Just saw this and I'd have to go with the Bridwell option but now I'm curious...
