News from the San Diego Comic Con includes photos of upoming DC Direct figures.  Of interest to some on this board will be figures of Kon-El "the kid" Superboy and The Eradicator as they appeared in "Reign of the Superman." Also coming is the black-and-silver look Superman from that story, so together with the Cyborg Superman already available, you can re-create the whole storyline in your playroom.  If that's your kind of thing...

Much cooler from my point of view is a glimpse of two prototypes, one a Wonder Woman figure done in the style of H.G. Peter and the other a Batman as drawn by Bob Kane.  These are the first two in a line called "First Appearance" figures, for reasons you can easily guess.

Word has it other figures in this line would include a C.C. Beck Captain Marvel and a Joe Shuster Superman!

Great news on the Superman fig, but it occurs to me this will be the FOURTH Cap figure from DC Direct and it will still not look the way I remember him, since the "definitive" Beck style was not yet in place for the cover of Whiz #1.  Once again I'll have to put up with that dumb "chest flap."

But a Shuster Superman...awesome.
