Here's a tangent from an interview with schlockmeister Rob Liefeld for the Orange County Weekly: http://blogs.ocweekly.com/navelgazing/ill-lyteracy/rob-liefeld-shoots-on-alan-moo/

Wow, the more Liefeld talks, the more vituperative he gets, going so far as to say that Alan Moore is a "ruthless businessman". Let's not forget that he's talking about the guy who hasn't taken any money from recent film versions of his work.

I suppose I could say a thing or two about Rob Liefeld, but why bother when a picture is worth a thousand words??

Apart from "shrewd businessman" crack, I could see Alan Moore doing most of the stuff Liefeld speaks of.  Alan Moore is definitely guilty of being Alan Moore.

To be honest, I can see him doing it too, especially all that nonsense about dreaming of having a conversation with Socrates and all that. I'm sure Alan Moore must be the most annoying man ever born sometimes; it's just that, if it were anyone else discussing it, I wouldn't mind so much, but it's Rob bloody  Liefeld.

To be honest, I'm an amatuer artist and I consider myself his "better". The guy can't draw, I'm sorry.

There was a website dedicated to Rob Leifeld and showed how he swiped stuff from other artists and used a lightbox for a lot of his stuff. (Well, there were other art thiefs, but he had close to 3/4 of the site to himself)

It's gone now, but it was very interesting and funny seeing just what Liefeld stole from.  I think the most famous was for Re: Gex and it was a swipe of a Bubbegum Crisis promo picture.
